'Extra' Exclusive! Cardi B Wants a ‘Reset’ on Life After Offset Split

The “I Like It” rapper opened up about being a mom, how she is doing post-split from Offset, her Christmas plans, and possible collaborations.
This has been the year of Cardi B, the Bronx born rapper topping the 2018 charts with hit after hit and welcoming her first child, daughter Kulture. Cardi lit up talking about her baby girl, gushing, “She's so ba-uuuute... She's so cute… She 5 months.”
While she loves being a mom, she told "Extra" motherhood has changed her. She explained, “A lot of things scare me… I never wanted to protect somebody so much, I just want to protect my baby. 'Oh, my gosh, you're so innocent and this world is so evil.'”
She continued, “I just want to also protect her. I guess she's born in fame… I just want early to teach her to be confident… I know when she starts reading and she sees how mean the world is, I just want her to be like, 'I'm fabulous and rich and I don't give a f***.'"
Cardi is dealing with the public in her own way, recently announcing on Instagram that she and husband Offset are divorcing. As for how she's doing, Cardi revealed, “Everything is good! I'm very excited for 2019 — I just feel like it's going to be a reset.”
She emphasized, saying that 2018 "was the good, bad, and the ugly year, a lot of good, a lot of bad, a lot of ugly all mixed together.”
Despite reports she will be with Offset for Christmas, Cardi hasn't decided where she will be for the holidays yet. She commented, “Everybody want to spend time with Kulture, so it's like, 'Oh my goodness where am I going to spend it?'"
What about working with Mariah Carey? Cardi said, “It's not in the works; it would be nice if it could be in the works. I've just been so busy that I haven't had time to do my own songs.”
