Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux Announce Split
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are going their separate ways after two and a half years of marriage.
They announced the split in a joint statement, saying, "In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship. Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else's fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another."
There is a lot at stake if the couple files for divorce. Celebrity Net Worth says Aniston is worth about $220 million and Theroux is worth about $20 million.
The news comes after they spent Jen's 49th birthday apart. Jen was with friends in Malibu, including BFF Courteney Cox, while Justin was in NYC.
Jen also attended Ellen's star-studded 60th birthday party last weekend without Justin. He told "Extra's" AJ Calloway he was getting ready to do press for his new Netflix show "Mute" and couldn't attend. "I heard it was a blast," he said.
Their last public event together appears to have been at Jason Bateman's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in July 2017.
The couple met on the set of “Tropic Thunder” in 2008 and began dating in 2011 while shooting “Wanderlust.” They wed in a surprise ceremony in August 2015.
