Country Artist Joe Diffie Dead of COVID-19 at 61
Nineties country hitmaker Joe Diffie, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week, died Sunday in Nashville, Tennessee, of the virus. He was 61.
Rolling Stone confirmed the singer's death.

View StoryBorn December 28, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Diffie churned out over 30 country hits between 1990 and 2004, including the #1 hits "Home" (1990), "If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets)" (1991), "Third Rock from the Sun" (1994), "Pickup Man" (1994), and "Bigger Than the Beatles" (1995).
Diffie was such a phenomenon he was mentioned in the 2013 song "1994" by Jason Aldean.
His final solo album was "The Bluegrass Album: Homecoming" (2010).
Diffie is survived by his fourth wife, Tara, and his seven children.
