Jay-Z Slams Anti-Gay Marriage Movement: 'It's Discrimination, Plain and Simple'
Music mogul Jay-Z admits he isn't too fond of politics, but is still a firm supporter of President Obama and thinks the President's stance on legalizing gay marriage is a big step.
The rapper traveled to Philadelphia to announce the launch of his “Budweiser Made in America” music festival, where he spoke with CNN about the same-sex marriage issue.
"I've always thought it as something that was still, um, holding the country back," Jay-Z told CNN of not allowing same-sex coupled to wed. "What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That's their business. It is no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination plain and simple."
Jay-Z will headline the two-day event in Philly, which takes place Labor Day Weekend (September 1, 2) and will feature approximately 30 artists from a wide array of genres encompassing hip-hop, R & B, Latin, rock, and dance. Watch the press conference!
