Was It a Date? John Stamos Dishes on His Night Out with Amy Poehler
“Extra's” Charissa Thompson caught up with John Stamos at the Goodwill of Orange County's 90th anniversary gala, where the actor set the record straight on his date with Amy Poehler, and more.
Amy told Howard Stern about her date with John back in October, explaining, “I was at a restaurant. We were having dinner and I was like, 'Oh maybe this is a date,' but I didn't know.”
John told Charissa it was definitely supposed to be a date. He said, "We're really good friends… I guess [Amy] didn't know it was a date. I asked her out on a date… and we had a really nice time. Then I hear she thought it wasn't a date. It was a date in my eyes."
He also chatted about his former "Full House" castmates, admitting they are "Too close… really, oddly close, still."
As for what he's currently working on, John said he has a pilot at FOX called the "Untitled John Stamos Show," adding, "We have to have a better title for that.”
John joked, "I play a George Clooney type before he abandoned everything he stood for, like a single dude…" John added, "I'm friends with [Clooney]… I admire him. I think he's certainly paved a great way for all of us."
On finding out Clooney was hitched and if he ever thought it would happen, John said, "I wasn't sure. He always liked being a bachelor… I guess there's only a few of us on the chopping block now."
He also talked about playing with the Beach Boys for the Goodwill fundraiser. “It's always the greatest thrill of my life to play with the Beach Boys.” On working with Goodwill, John shared, "It's really a beautiful organization… they're helping vets, which I love… and mentally challenged kids, which is fantastic."
The gala raised $400,000 to help people with barriers find employment and secure purpose-filling jobs.
