Cher's Racy BBMAs Performance & Speech: 'I Can Do a 5-Minute Plank, Okay?'
Legendary performer Cher showed up to collect the ICON Award at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night, performing in a sequin-studded, nude-illusion outfit that only she could get away with, and wearing her famous "If I Could Turn Back Time" sheer bodysuit while accepting her honor!
"I've wanted to do what I do since I was 4 years old," Cher said, "and I've been doing it for 53 years... I'm 71 yesterday, so... yes, and I can do a five-minute plank, okay? Just saying."
She thanked her mom, Georgia Holt, 90, for telling her as a child, "You're not gonna be the smartest, you're not gonna be the prettiest, you're not gonna be the most talented, but you're gonna be special."
Controversially, she expressed gratitude to convicted murderer Phil Spector, with whom she worked for a year early in her career for almost no money, but from whom she said she learned so much.
Others name-checked by Cher include songwriter Diane Warren and mogul David Geffen, who she dated before he came out as gay, and to whose record label she was signed for many years.
