Zooey Deschanel & Jacob Pechenik Call It Quits After 4 Years of Marriage

Actress Zooey Deschanel, 39, and producer Jacob Pechenik, 47, are going their separate ways after four years of marriage.
The couple released a statement to People via a rep, explaining, “After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners, and co-parents rather than life partners. We remain committed to our business, our values, and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time.”
The pair announced their engagement in January 2015 after meeting on the set of the comedy “Rock the Kasbah.” The couple tied the knot in June 2015 and welcomed their first child, Elsie, that July. They welcomed a second child, Charlie, in May 2017.
Zooey was previously married to Ben Gibbard, the frontman for Death Cab for Cutie.
