Wait’s Almost Over for Diane Sawyer’s Tell-All Bruce Jenner Interview, Jenner Says: 'I Hope I'm Going to Be Okay'
ABC's News Anchor Diane Sawyer joined George Stephanopoulos on “Good Morning America” to chat about her exclusive interview with Bruce Jenner airing tonight, April 24, and gave fans a sneak peek of her sit-down with the former Olympian.
Stephanopoulos asked the question that has been on everyone's mind about Jenner, “Everyone wants to know what is going on?” Sawyer replied, “I think everyone can agree that some things, some stories should only be told by the person who lives them, and he wants to speak directly tonight.”
Sawyer revealed that she talked with Jenner over several says, and had long conversations with the 65-year-old reality star, and toward the end of their time together she asked Jenner if she missed anything, any question she should have asked.
Bruce took a moment and then answered, “Are you gonna be okay?” Sawyer repeated his answer and responded again, “Yea, I hope I'm gonna be okay, I feel like I'm gonna be okay. 2015's gonna be quite a ride, quite a ride.”
Sawyer continued with Stephanopoulous, saying that she hoped this interview would help other families and friends come together. The “20/20” host revealed she also spoke to Jenner's family, including his older sister, who talked about what Bruce was like growing up.
She finished by calling the interview a “family love story.”
The two-hour “20/20” special, “Bruce Jenner – The Interview,” airs tonight, April 24 on ABC at 9 PM.
