Alex Trebek’s Wife Jean on How She’s Uplifting Him Amid Cancer Battle
In a rare interview, Alex Trebek's wife Jean is opening up about her spirituality and how she's helping him cope as he battles stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Jean told SurvivorNet that she's a licensed practitioner at North Hollywood Church of Religious Science, where the philosophy is that “love is at the center of everything, and that every thought, word, and deed is creative.”
She uses sound healing, affirmative prayer, Reiki, Religious Science, and her blog insidewink to help others, and to keep herself “buoyed” while uplifting Alex.
Jean explained, “It comes from a place of love, because I want to uplift him… and when I keep my own self buoyed and enjoying my life, I can actually share that with him. He can look at me and have a sense of, 'Life is beautiful; my wife is doing something good.'”
For anyone going through a difficult time, the 54-year-old recommends, “Just ask the universe, 'What's the next step for me?' The universe will always respond. I am absolutely sure that we live in a benevolent universe that is always conspiring for our highest and greatest good.”
In September, Alex revealed on “Good Morning America” that he would need to undergo more chemotherapy.
Weeks later, in a sit-down interview with Canada's CTV News, the “Jeopardy!” host said that he may not be able to continue hosting “Jeopardy!”
Now, he's released a new PSA for World Pancreatic Cancer Day. Watch.
