What Larry David Thinks of Steve Bannon’s Whopping 'Seinfeld' Earnings
Comedian Larry David is making it clear that he is not of fan of Steve Bannon making money from “Seinfeld,” the show David created.
Last night, “Extra's” Terri Seymour caught up with the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star at “Stand Up! For the Planet,” a benefit for the Natural Resources Defense Council, where he was set to take the stage.
David, who has made hundreds of millions of dollars from “Seinfeld,” the show about nothing, opened up about President Trump's chief strategist Steve Bannon, who has reportedly raked in $32 million from the hit NBC show after quietly acquiring a stake in it before its massive syndication deal.
David shared, “I had never heard of the guy until the Trump campaign.”
Does it bother David that Bannon is linked to his iconic show? The 69-year-old responded, “It bothers me that he makes money from it, yeah… sure.”
“I don't know how much he's made, but whatever it is, if it's a dollar, it's too much,” he added.
The funnyman was happy to raise money for the planet, pointing out that his comedy does not center around politics. “I would be doing the same material whether or not Trump was president or Hillary Clinton.”
