Bono’s Injury Causes U2 to Cancel Week-Long ‘Tonight Show’ Gig
Rock band U2 had to cancel their gig as house band for “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” this week after frontman Bono injured his arm while riding a bike.
Fellow band members The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen said on the official U2 website that Bono took a “cycling spill in Central Park” on Sunday.
The band wrote, “We're one man down. Bono... requires some surgery to repair (the arm). We're sure he'll make a full recovery soon, so we'll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.”
No more details were given on the injury.
This is the second time this week that something scary happened to Bono. On Wednesday, a hatch blew out on his private plane, forcing an emergency landing.
