‘Bachelorette’ Contestant Tyler Gwozdz Dead at 29
Update: TMZ reports that Gwozdz died Wednesday.
After news broke about his passing, the producers of "The Bachelorette" released a statement, saying, "We are heartbroken to hear the tragic news of Tyler's passing today. Our thoughts are with the Gwozdz family and his friends.”
“The Bachelorette” contestant Tyler Gwozdz, 29, was hospitalized for at least a week after a major health scare.
TMZ reports Tyler was admitted to an ICU on January 13 after paramedics received a call about a possible drug overdose in Boca Raton, Florida.
According to the 911 call, a woman told dispatchers that Tyler had locked himself in a bathroom, which she was eventually able to open. [Though reports are unconfirmed] the caller also mentioned that heroin may have caused the suspected overdose.
The outlet noted that Tyler was listed in critical but stable condition. It looks like he has been discharged since he is no longer a current patient in their system.
On the most recent season of “The Bachelorette,” Tyler was sent home after three weeks on the show and a one-on-one date with Hannah B.
The reason for his departure was never revealed. Hannah only announced that he “had to leave.”
Based on his “Bachelorette” profile, Tyler is a “laid-back guy” who was aspiring to be a psychologist. He also has a business in Dream Therapy Analysis and “avoids clubs at all costs.”
