Blake Shelton Breaks His Silence on Miranda Lambert Divorce
They split in July, but according to Blake Shelton, he and Miranda Lambert are still "buddies."
"The Voice" coach said on "The Bobby Bones Show," "Our whole thing was, 'You know, we're just going to be cool about this.' It is what it is. We're buddies."
The star couple kept the split under wraps until after the divorce was finalized.
"We knew if rumblings and rumors started coming out, they would be just that. By the time anybody knew anything, it was over – it was done."
It helped that the former twosome, who were married for four years and together for 10, had a pre-nup.
"In Oklahoma, it happens so fast," he explained. "Miranda and I didn't have any kids, and we had our prenuptial agreement, whatever we had. Once we filed for divorce, it was over in a nine- or 10-day waiting period."
Listen to the interview below. Blake opens up about Miranda at the 6:58-minute mark.
A friend told People that Blake is focusing on himself.
"I think he's open to another relationship in the future, but just not now," the insider said. "He's friendly with everyone, but he's not carrying on with women. He's taking time for himself right now."
Shelton, who drops his new album"“Reloaded: 20 #1 Hits" on October 23, will perform at and host Warner Music Nashville's Pickin' on the Patio Party tonight.
