Halle Berry Honored for Her Work with Domestic Abuse Victims

Actress Halle Berry was honored Thursday at the unite4:good Foundation and Variety's 2nd annual unite4:humanity gala, presented by Alcatel OneTouch.

Berry received the Creative Conscience Award for her work with the Jenesse Center, a program that helps women escape domestic abuse.

Berry explained to “Extra's” Terri Seymour, “Domestic violence is a tough cause. It's very hard to get people motivated to care about battered women. People seem to think… if they left this would be over, but it's not that simple.”

Other celebrities honored at the gala included:

-- Christina Applegate, who received the Saint Vintage Love Cures Award for her work with Right Action for Women
-- Amy Poehler, who received the Unity Award for her work with Worldwide Orphans
-- Ewan McGregor, who received the International Humanitarian Award for his work with UNICEF UK
-- Lauren Paul and Aaron Paul, who received the unite2gether Award for their work with the Kind Campaign
-- P!nk, who received the Music Visionary Award for her work with No Kid Hungry
-- Josh Hutcherson, who received the Young Humanitarian Award for his work with Straight But Not Narrow

Unite4:good foundation will auction off a 1936 Lincoln formerly owned by Howard Hughes. Proceeds to benefit the foundation. The auction will go live Monday on unite4good.com.
