Khloé Kardashian & Lamar Odom Divorce Finalized, Plus: He Opens Up on Near-Fatal Overdose
The three-year saga of Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom's separation is finally coming to a close, as their divorce will be finalized December 17.
TMZ was the first to report the two reached a property settlement and both signed the legal documents filed on Friday, October 21. The paperwork was only being held up for a judge's signature, which sets December 17 as the end of their marital status.
Khloé originally filed paperwork to dissolve their marriage in 2013, but later withdrew the paperwork when Lamar became comatose after his 2015 drug overdose at a Nevada brothel.
Earlier this week, the retired NBA player entered a rehab facility in San Diego to work on his physical and mental health, while learning how to maintain his sobriety.
Prior to his decision to enter rehab, the former athlete opened up about his struggles on "The Doctors." During the interview, Odom told E.R physician Dr. Travis Stork, “I wasn't in a good place mentally, especially mentally, before the incident happened. My wife at the time, we were going through some things,” he says, referring to Khloé. “I was in a dark place. So, I guess they say everything happens for a reason. So, I guess the reason is I'm here and I can tell the story.”
Dr. Travis Stork will meet with the 37-year-old again in January once he has completed his treatment.
"The Doctors" interview with Lamar airs Friday, December 16.
