They have been rumored to be dating for about two years. He is the stepson of George Mountbatten, who is in line to the throne and the cousin of Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry's grandmother.
Cressida and Prince Harry, who were introduced by his cousin, Princess Eugenie, called it quits in 2014 after two years of dating. At the time, a source told People magazine, “She is a lovely girl, and a beautiful girl, but this has run its course. It wasn't to be.”
Royal biographer Katie Nicholl claimed, “He was in love with her and he tried to convince her they could make it work, but Cressida's mind was made up. She called the relationship off because she knew in her heart this wasn't what she wanted. Harry suffered a real blow when she said, 'I can't do this.' I think she really broke his heart.”
Years later, Prince Harry would find love with Meghan Markle.
Though they broke up, the exes have maintained an amicable relationship. Last year, Cressida even attended Harry and Meghan's wedding at St. George's Chaple at Winsor Castle, where she wore a striped dress and a feathered fascinator. She joked to The Spectator, “Friends are starting to get married, which means the dilemma of British wedding attire… Most of the time I avoid headgear. This can prompt disapproving looks from the older generations. Last weekend I attended the royal wedding. The invitation clearly stated that guests must wear hats. Yikes. I opted for a minimal feathered number — and can only hope I got it right.”
When asked how she felt to be known as Harry's ex, Cressida told BBC's "Woman's Hour" in 2017, “I think it's that thing of being pigeonholed. Especially in this country, I feel people are very quick to put you in a box or put you in a corner and think, 'Oh, well, you're that so you must be that.'”
