Kate Middleton Handles Marilyn Monroe Moment with Class on First Trip to India
On Monday, Kate Middleton had a Marilyn Monroe moment while honoring the World War I soldiers who served from Indian regiments, at India Gate in New Delhi.
Middleton was seen gracefully holding down her Emilia Wickstead dress against the wind while laying a wreath with husband Prince William by her side.
Kate's near faux pas was reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe's iconic scene in her film "The Seven Year Itch,” where Marilyn stepped onto a grate, causing her dress to fly up and expose her legs.
Later in the day, Kate and Prince were on hand to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday at a garden party in the country.
This is the first time that Kate and William are touring India together. On Sunday, at a Bollywood charity gala, Prince William shared, "When Catherine and I were married, India was the first place on Catherine's list that she told me that she wanted to visit. Two children and five years later, we have finally made it — and we are both honored to be here."
