Tom Brady's Deflategate Suspension Will Cost Him How Much?!
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is taking a forced time out next season, and it's going to cost him dearly.
The NFL suspended Brady for four games for his role in the “deflategate” controversy.
Brady makes $470,588 per week during the season, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell, meaning the star player will lose more than $1.8 million because of the suspension.
The team took a hit too. The NFL fined the 2015 Super Bowl champs $1 million and revoked the team's first-round draft pick next year, and fourth-round draft pick in 2017.
The Patriots have been accused of knowingly deflating footballs ahead of their AFC Championship game vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
Ironically, Brady's first game back next season, on Oct. 11, will be against the Colts. The same team that alerted the NFL that the footballs may have been deflated.
