David Schwimmer Talks Reuniting with ‘Friends’ Co-Stars for Highly Anticipated Special, Plus: His New Series ‘Intelligence'
The coronavirus may have pushed backed the date, but “Friends” fans can rejoice — the reunion is still on!
Along with promoting his new series “Intelligence,” actor David Schwimmer also discussed the highly anticipated “Friends” HBO Max special with Extra's” Jenn Lahmers, telling her, “It's going to be the first time the six of us are on that couch on the original set that is being rebuilt and on our soundstage where we shot for 10 years, so it's going to be quite something for us to reunite and be in that environment for the first time together... Hopefully, it'll be fun... Most of all, I hope it's safe… so we'll see if it happens in August… but if not, it'll happen later.”
Schwimmer will be reuniting with his famous “Friends” co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc.
As for “Intelligence,” David is playing an American NSA agent who travels to work at Britain's Government Communications Headquarters. David dished that his character is "ultra confident, really ignorant" — perfect attributes for "a workplace comedy set in the world of cyberterrorism and cybercrime.”
During the Zoom chat, David was also joined by co-star Nick Mohammed, who is starring in and writing the series, which was inspired by his real-life experiences. Nick commented, “I worked for an investment bank where I basically didn't know what I was doing for the whole time I was there... but I did know it was quite important… My character was kind of born out of that.”
“Intelligence” premieres July 15.
