Will Bruno Mars Once Again Be the Super Bowl Performer?
Bruno Mars has reportedly been invited back to perform at the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show!
A close source told Billboard that Bruno has been asked to “curate” the 50th halftime show, which may feature other big guests.
A year ago, the “Uptown Funk” singer showcased his talents for the halftime show, which drew 115 million viewers. It was the second highest-viewed halftime show, behind Katy Perry, who grabbed 121 million football fans earlier this year.
Sarah Moll, Director of Media Events for the NFL, told Billboard in December about booking Bruno for the 2013 halftime show, "Myself and our producer, Ricky Kirshner, were both personal fans of Bruno and had seen him in concert and knew what he could do. And it was a lot of just telling folks here and getting folks excited about Bruno and taking them to shows and letting them see what he could do. And that's kind of what got it going.”
If Bruno does perform, he'll be one of four artists to play at the Super Bowl halftime show twice, along with Gloria Estefan, Justin Timberlake, and Nelly.
Super Bowl 50 is scheduled to take place February 7, 2016.
