Have the Duggar Sisters Forgiven Josh? New Details from Megyn Kelly's Exclusive
UPDATE: All the details from Jill and Jessa Duggar's 'The Kelly File' interview.
Jill and Jessa Duggar are breaking their silence about the molestation allegations against their brother Josh.
First, their parents sat down with FOX News reporter Megyn Kelly to talk about the sex abuse scandal, and now the daughters – both identified as victims in the case – will share their side of the story.
“Extra's” AJ Calloway sat down with cable's fastest rising star to find out more about her exclusive with the two women, and find out if they have since forgiven their brother.
Kelly, a lawyer turned TV reporter, said, “They started off as your normal 22, 24-year-old girls, a little bubbly, kinda giggly, and then when we did get into it the tears started to flow… imagine how painful that would be… they never chose to have this piece of their family story put out there, and I think they are struggling with what people are assuming about their family and about what happened to them.”
Does she think Jill and Jessa have forgiven their brother? “I do, yeah I do. They told me that. They also talked about the journey from the pain to the forgiveness, and it was not without some bumps in the road.”
The “Megyn Kelly Files” anchor, who joined FOX News in 2004 and launched her own show in 2013, added, “All of the children went through counseling, all of them, not just Josh, not just the victims, all of them went through licensed therapist counseling to try to get through what happened.”
After talking with Michelle, Jim Bob, Jill and Jessa, she's hoping to talk to Josh as well.
“Of course, I would love to talk to Josh, he's really the best one to talk about what happened and why, and where he is today. I think that is what a lot of people are wondering,” Kelly said. “Does this make him a child molester? Do you have to worry about him on an ongoing basis? He has three young children and one on the way. He's around a lot of young children.”
In a new promo for the FOX News interview, which airs at 9 PM on Friday, Jessa comes to her brother's defense. "I do want to speak up in his defense against people who are calling him a child molester or a pedophile or a rapist, some people are saying,” Jessa told Kelly. “I'm like, that is so overboard and a lie, really. I mean, people get mad at me for saying that, but I can say this, because I was one of the victims.”
