'The Bachelor' Couple Peter Weber & Madison Prewett Split
Just days after their reunion on “The Bachelor: After the Rose,” Peter Weber, 28, and Madison Prewett, 23, have called it quits!
On Thursday, Weber wrote on Instagram, “Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further. Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure."
Though they aren't dating anymore, he said, “Madi, thank you for your patience and unconditional love. You're the epitome of a woman who carries herself with grace, stands by what she believes in, and loves whole heartedly. That love is something I feel so grateful to have felt and will take a piece of that with me always going forward.”
Prewett released her own statement, writing, “As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of our purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things. I will always love and respect him.”
“I am convinced our paths were meant to cross and we are both better because they did. @pilot_pete you are an amazing guy and I'm thankful for you. I will always be your biggest fan,” Madison went on.
Before their big decision, Peter and Madison were spotted having lunch at Granville restaurant in Studio City. A source told Us Weekly, "It looked like the conversation was intense. Madison had both hands on her temples for multiple minutes.”
"She looked extremely uncomfortable,” the eyewitness continued. “He was doing a lot of nodding and furrowing his eyebrows. She was doing most of the talking.”
During the finale, Weber tried to patch things up with Madison after breaking off his engagement with Hannah Ann, much to his mother Barb's dismay. Barb made it very clear that she didn't approve of their relationship.
On the same day of their breakup, Barb posted a video of herself with her friends singing John Denver's song "Leaving on a Jet Plane."
“Extra's” Renee Bargh spoke with host Chris Harrison, who shared his take on the finale. He said, “I knew Hannah and him had broken up and he was going to try with Madison. I wasn't sure how that was going to resolve itself. What I did not see coming was Barb… I didn't think she would go to that level, and I knew she wouldn't be happy with the Madison thing.”
Sharing what it was like in the room, Harrison said, “I have never been more uncomfortable. It was like being at a horrible Thanksgiving dinner and everyone airing their dirty laundry.”After the cameras stopped rolling, Harrison revealed, “Barb and Peter Sr., his dad, they went out one way and Peter and Madison went out another way. Peter was visibly upset. Clearly, on a lot of levels, he felt a little ambushed. He felt upset, he felt protective over Madison.”
What was Chris' take on Barb? As a parent himself, he thought, “If you think they are going to fail, then why not just let them fail and then you can say, 'Hey, next time let's do a little better than that.'”
