View StoryThough she admitted she has been "stressed out" by their past breakups, she asserted that this time is different — and it isn't happening because of any cheating issues, let alone fake rumors that the Migos rapper has a baby on the way with another woman.
"I just got tired of f--king arguing. I got tired of not seeing things eye-to-eye. When you feel like it's not the same anymore, before you actually get cheated on, I rather just be... you know what I'm saying?" she said. "Like, I'm tired of people."
Stressing that nothing "crazy out of this world" happened, she said, "You just get tired of the arguments and the build-up. You get tired sometimes. And before something bad happens, before you get left, before you get cheated on, you sometimes you just want to leave. What is so bad about that?"
The couple is set to appear in court on November 4 for divorce proceedings. In her papers, Cardi called their union "irretrievably broken."
Two years ago, Offset was accused of cheating after a video surfaced of an alleged liaison with another woman.
Amid cheating rumors, Cardi announced that they had split. In a now-deleted video, she said, “So everybody been bugging me and everything and you know I've been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now. We are really good friends and we are really good business partners — you know he's always somebody that I run to to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other but things just haven't been working out between us for a long time.”
“It's nobody fault. I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore,” Cardi continued. “I don't know, it might take time to get a divorce and I'm going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter's father.”
Offset would go through great measures to win Cardi back, including crashing her set at the t the Rolling Loud Festival at the Banc of California Stadium in L.A. In a video, Offset also apologized to Cardi, saying, “I only got one birthday wish and that's to get my wife back Cardi. We're going through a lot of things right now, a lot of things in the media. I want to apologize to you Cardi. I embarrassed you. I made you go crazy."
Offset acknowledged his behavior, saying, “I was partaking in activity that I shouldn't have been partaking in, and I apologize. You know what I'm saying? For breaking your heart, for breaking our promise, for breaking God's promise and being a selfish, messed up husband. I'm trying to be a better person. I want to get this off my shoulders. I want to get this off my back. I apologize to you Cardi. I love you."
The pair would reconcile in early 2019. She told “Extra” during Super Bowl weekend, “We're working things out… work in progress.”
