D.L. Hughley Hospitalized After Passing Out; Announces COVID-19 Diagnosis
Comic D.L. Hughley, 57, passed out during a stand-up set Friday night, and it's the only way he found out he has COVID-19.
TMZ obtained video of Hughley was onstage at Zanies Comedy Club in Nashville when his speech became slurred, he slumped onto a stool, and he ultimately hit the floor unconscious.
In a statement, his rep initially chalked it up to "exhaustion," noting that while he was observed in a hospital overnight, "He is awake and feeling better, and wishes to thank everyone for the very kind prayers and thoughts."
In an Instagram post late Saturday night, Hughley told his supporters that while being cared for in the hospital, he learned he has COVID-19.
Saying the result "blew me away," he noted he had none of the disease's classic symptoms. Watch:
