Soap Star Judi Evans Nearly Lost Both Her Legs to Covid-19
“Days of Our Lives” star Judi Evans, 55, contracted the coronavirus — and is still recovering weeks later.
According to Evans' rep Howie Tiger Simon, she tested positive while recovering in a hospital after a horseback riding accident in May.
In a Facebook post, her rep said, “I spoke to Judi on Sunday and she is STILL in the hospital - 23 days now and counting.”
Along with experiencing “mild symptoms,” like fever, aches, and a cough, Evans was also dealing with blood clots in her legs that required surgery.
Simon said, “She nearly had both legs amputated on two different occasions.”
After having surgery on one of her legs, Judi was “in good spirits.”
“She has said she appreciates all the prayers for her and they've helped her mentally, physically and spiritually!” Simon continued. “She just wants to continue to test negative on COVID19 before she can go home and get the rest she so needs!!!”
On Tuesday, Judi was well enough for an interview on “Good Morning America,” during which she revealed that she asked for a coronavirus test after noticing her symptoms. She commented, “[They tested me] and it came back positive."
Last month, Evans suffered a broken collarbone, seven broken ribs, two chipped vertebrae, and a collapsed lung after falling off a horse in Los Angeles.
