Source Says Kobe Bryant & Wife Vanessa Had This Helicopter Pact
Just days after Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna died in a horrific helicopter crash, a source reveals he had a pact with his wife Vanessa.
The insider tells People, “He and Vanessa had a deal that they would never fly on a helicopter together.” The source added that Kobe would only fly with pilot Ara Zobayan, who also died in the accident.
Kobe started commuting from Orange County to L.A. via helicopter while playing with the Lakers so he could spend more time with his family.
He told Alex Rodriguez in 2018, “I was sitting in traffic and I wound up missing, like, a school play. I had to figure out a way where I could still train and focus on the craft but still not compromise family time.”
Kobe went on, “So that's when I looked into helicopters, to be able to get down and back in 15 minutes, and that's when it started.”
At the time of the accident on Sunday, Kobe, Gianna, and the rest of the victims were en route to the Mamba Academy when the helicopter crashed in Calabasas.
