Whoopi Goldberg Sets the Record Straight on ‘The View’ Tension
On Monday, Whoopi Goldberg addressed rumors that the women of “The View” don't get along!
Despite the heated discussions that Whoopi, Meghan McCain, Abby Huntsman, Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar have over politics, Whoopi says they are on good terms. Sitting in the hot seat on “Late Night with Seth Meyers," she said, “Here's the thing, I don't often have much to say. I've been there for almost 10 years. Everyone has what they need to do, and folks, when it's women, they say, 'You know, they're fighting.' You know, if we were fighting, you'd actually know it."
Whoopi joked about the on-air tension, “We're like old broads. We're like, pow! [throws a punch] We're not like, 'Stop it, you're so mean to me.' We don't do that. We will slap you into next week. If we were truly fighting, there would be issues."

"They think differently, they want to say different stuff and I figure, that's okay, they're trying to do their gig, too, because, after all, this is our day job where they're paying us for our opinions so that's what they do."
"Sometimes it gets heated," she admitted. "I've had fights with husbands and lovers and all kinds of stuff that have gone way further out the deck."
Two months ago, Whoopi gave a health update on show creator Barbara Walters. She told “Extra” while promoting the new season, “As far as I know, she's fine. I keep reading stuff that she's crawling across the tundra. That's not been my experience with her.”
