Eva Mendes Gets Real About Parenting with Ryan Gosling

Actress Eva Mendes stopped by “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and dished on what her life is like as a stay-at-home mom.

Mendes has two daughters, Esmeralda Amada, 5, and Amada Lee, 3, with partner Ryan Gosling and joked about how hard parenting can be.

Kelly asked when Eva realized she had picked the “way harder job” by staying home with the kids.

Mendes replied, “People are so sweet — they really try to warn you, prep you when you're pregnant, but nobody can prep you. Nobody. And nobody told me it was gonna really be a job. And a job that I needed an incredible amount of skill for, in different areas.” For example? Eva listed, “A chauffeur, a cook, a personal assistant to an abusive boss.”

Eva added that she and Ryan have the same style, and both fall under the labels “helicopter” and “bulldozing” parents.

“We're very controlling,” she said. “I think what the term is — we're always laughing at these terms — I think we would be 'bulldozing parents.'”

Eva insisted, “we have to be on top of them every second” because they are so young, asking, “What else are we supposed to do?”
