Jenny Slate Engaged: 'I Screamed YES!'

"Venom" actress Jenny Slate has announced her engagement to Ben Shattuck following a romantic proposal in France.
Slate, 37, wrote on Instagram, "He took me to France and made a picnic and made me feel happy and free and then he asked me to marry him and i screamed YES. I love you @benshattuck_art, you are the kindest and brightest and I am so grateful and here we go and keep going."
Along with details of the proposal, Slate shared images from their idyllic time in France.

Shattuck also confirmed their engagement on Instagram, writing, “In an abandoned castle in southern France, I asked this woman to marry me. 🌈❤️🍾Here she is in front of a door the color of her soul. In LA / MA / Holland / Belgium / France thank you @jennyslate and UP UP UP to more adventures 🌸🌸🌸."

Slate's ring — shown off on social media, too — looks like it could be an antique prong-set sapphire with diamonds on a gold band, according to People magazine.
Shattuck, an artist, is the curator of his mom's gallery, Dedee Shattuck Gallery.
Slate previously dated action star Chris Evans, with whom she starred in "Gifted." Their on-again, off-again relationship was called off for good in 2018. She was married to comic Dean Fleischer-Camp from 2012-2016.
