Marie Osmond’s Newborn Granddaughter Rushed to ICU

Singer Marie Osmond is asking for prayers for her new granddaughter.

On Thursday, Marie tweeted, “Asking for prayers for my precious granddaughter born this evening 6lbs 10 ounces. So thankful she was able to be taken to children's ICU in one of our amazing @CMNHospitals #gratitude that she is in their care!”

In a statement to People, Marie revealed that daughter Brianna, 21, and her cinematographer husband Dave Schwep, 42, are the parents. She said, “My daughter, Brianna, gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Mom is doing well and my granddaughter is currently in a pediatric ICU. Thankfully, the prognosis looks great for our little angel. We are grateful she is in exceptional hands with her team of doctors and nurses. We ask for your continued thoughts and prayers.”

The baby arrived later than expected, according to Brianna and Dave's baby registry on Amazon.

A few weeks ago, Dave and Brianna enjoyed a babymoon at Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach.

In late March, Marie posted a series of photos from their baby shower, which was also attended by Patrick Adams and wife Troian Bellisario. She wrote on Instagram, “Such a special time celebrating my next grandbaby!! Thank you to Brianna & Dave's incredible hosts and dear friends @sheenayaitanes & @gregyaitanes. It was such a beautiful shower and a wonderful day to spend time with family and friends. #schwepicbaby 👶❤️ Oh and my daughter Abby loved meeting you both @sleepinthegardn@halfadams! 😉.”

Just weeks before, Dave announced they were expecting by posting a pic of himself kissing her baby bump. He wrote on Instagram, “Made with love❤️ #expecting #babyschwep #wisdomtree#schwepic #mrandmrsschwep#schwepicbaby.”

Brianna and Dave's baby was born five months after they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony attended by their parents. At the time, Dave shared on Instagram, “Brianna and I committed to each other in a private ceremony with our parents. We look forward to a larger celebration with our friends and family in the coming year. I am so grateful to be sharing my life with such an amazing human 🙌❤️ #soulmate #MrandMrsSchwep#schwepic.”

In November, they announced their engagement. Along with a photo of their rings, Dave gushed, “I am so honored and grateful to be engaged to marry my best friend and lover Brianna Patricia-Lynne 💍❤️❤️❤️.”

Lauren is one of Marie's eight children.

Marie is also the grandmother of four other kids, and is expecting another grandson from her daughter Rachael this summer.

The 59-year-old recently shared a photo of her grandkids, writing, “I absolutely love this picture, look at my sweet husband and darling grandkids, and now we have two more on the way! It's so thrilling but I have to be honest with you, when I looked at this picture I thought, 'where has time gone? Wasn't it yesterday these sweet little ones were my own children?'”

She added, “I'm so thrilled my kids are married to wonderful people and have started families of their own, there's no greater joy on earth... But... Where did the time go?”

In other news, Marie was recently announced as Sara Gilbert's replacement on “The Talk.” In a statement, she said, “It is such a joy for me to be joining 'The Talk' in September. After guest co-hosting and appearing as a guest on the show throughout the years, I am thrilled to now call this my day job. I look forward to working with Sharon, Sheryl, Eve and Carrie Ann, who are such smart, strong, talented women whom I immensely respect. I cannot wait to share this exciting new chapter with the viewers and the CBS family.”
