Pregnancy Emergency! Why Joy-Anna Duggar Was Rushed to the Hospital

“Counting On” star Joy-Anna Duggar gave birth to baby boy Gideon Martyn Forsyth in February, but his arrival was quite intense!
On Monday's episode, Joy-Anna documented her journey, sharing, “I think going through this pregnancy for me has been good. I haven't really had morning sickness, not a lot of food aversions, so that's a blessing. But at the same time I think it has been somewhat challenging just because there are a lot of new emotions and hormones and things that I've never had before.”
Though the 20-year-old wanted to have a home birth, Joy-Anna was rushed to the hospital because her baby was in breech position, meaning that he would come out buttock- or feetfirst. Upon arrival, she underwent an emergency C-section.
After the birth, Joy-Anna shared, “We are doing well. Love you guys, thank you for your prayers. We are so happy that our little one has finally arrived and we're parents.”
Gideon is Joy-Anna's first child with husband Austin Forsyth.
