Allison Janney Thanks ‘I, Tonya’ Bird in Oscars 2018 Acceptance Speech
Actress Allison Janney won big on her first trip to the Oscars!
During her Best Supporting Actress acceptance speech, she joked, “I did it all by myself.”
She went on to thank her co-stars, her team, and the “bird that elevated my work.”
Over a month ago, Janney paid tribute to the bird after winning at the Golden Globes. Watch!
Hours before her big win, “Extra's” Mario Lopez spoke to Janney on the red carpet, where she pointed out, “This is my first time at the Oscars, so this is a pretty special moment for me.”
When asked if she was planning to hit the after-parties, Allison said, “I'm going to do everything, but I'm going to do it without heels on.”
After Mario showed her a still from one of her earlier TV movies, “Blind Spot,” Janney reacted by saying, “Joanne Woodward is my mentor. She has helped me so much, starting out in this career. She was an extraordinary presence in my life. I love that woman so much. I love that you just showed that.”
This was Allison's first Oscar nomination after more than two decades of acting.
Janney wore a Reem Acra gown and Forevermark Diamonds.
