‘DWTS’ Controversy! Tom Bergeron’s Surprising Comments About Witney Carson — How Did She React?
Last night, “Dancing with the Stars” co-host Tom Bergeron sparked some controversy for his comments about pro dancer Witney Carson.
After her performance with Frankie Muniz, judge Carrie Ann Inaba mentioned a misstep, saying, “I look for mistakes, but I don't see them — except for when you almost lost control of Witney there.”
In response to Inaba's comments, Bergeron said, “I'm guessing he's not the first guy who's lost control of Witney.” He immediately backpedalled after hearing gasps in the crowd, explaining, “You could be a harsh taskmaster.”
Backstage, Witney addressed the comments, telling reporters, “I didn't really get it at first because I was like, 'I don't really get what that means,' but yeah, thanks. Thanks for whatever that was. But I'm just going to brush it off, and I hope you guys do, too.”
During the show, a clip was seen of Frankie promising to go shirtless if he made it to next week. Witney was ready to make Frankie own up to the promise, telling “Extra” after the show, “Of course I'm gonna hold him to it.”
Cheryl Burke and Terrell Owens were eliminated from the competition.
