Did Scarlett Johansson’s Daughter Approve of Her ‘Ghost in the Shell’ Transformation?
Actress Scarlett Johansson is a human-cyborg hybrid in her new big-screen sci-fi thriller “Ghost in the Shell,” but she's just a mom to Rose, 2 and a half, at home.
Over the weekend, Scarlett sat down with “Extra's” AJ Calloway to talk about the film, revealing that her daughter was not really into her character. The actress, who rocked an ultra-sexy look with a dark wig and eye-popping bodysuit as Major, shared, “[Rose] wasn't totally crazy about the transformation. I think she just wanted me to look like her mom.”
“I was still nursing her when I was making this film, so she looked up one minute and see a blonde person and then look up and see this wig and she was just like... she did not like that, of course. She was like, 'No,'" Scarlett added.
The 32-year-old was “pleasantly surprised” when she saw her character's suit for the first time, saying, “It feels like a wet suit.”
The first thing AJ wanted to know was how the character could go to the bathroom in that outfit. Scarlett admitted, “That's really something your audience does not need to know. But it happened. I can guarantee you. It happened. Couple times a day.”
In the film, based on the best-selling graphic novels, Scarlett plays the head of a task force fighting cyberterrorism. “The training was great, actually,” she said. "I got to do a lot of tactical training, which is weapons handling… take my weapon apart and put it back together. I like that stuff.”
“Ghost in the Shell” hits theaters Friday.
