Prince Charles’ Goddaughter & Reality Star Tara Palmer-Tomkinson Dead at 45
Prince Charles' goddaughter Tara Palmer-Tomkinson has passed away at the age of 45.
According to the BBC, Palmer-Tomkinson was found dead in her South Kensington apartment by police officers on Wednesday.
Charles used to go on vacation with Tara's parents Charles and Patti. After news broke of her sudden death, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, said in a statement, "We are deeply saddened and our thoughts are so much with the family.”
Though the cause of death is unknown, Palmer-Tomkinson suffered from an autoimmune condition that caused acute anemia and fatigue. She also underwent treatment for a benign brain tumor last year.
Palmer-Tomkinson, who battled drug addiction in the past, recently opened up about saying good-bye to her partying lifestyle. She told DailyMail.com, "I'm not the person I was. I'm much calmer. I don't go to places like Ibiza because the party world scares me. I've gone completely the other way. I'm a very quiet person now, and I like being that person. I have a better perspective on life.”
Following her death, a close pal told the Dailymail.com, She had been dependent on drugs for so long that she didn't know any other way to live. Tara did have times where she was clean, but I don't think she had been able to stay off them for the past five or six years."
Tara became a reality star in her own right, appearing on "Comic Relief Does Fame Academy," "The Underdog Show” and "I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!"
