Ryan Seacrest Provides Kanye Update: 'Things Are Going Better'
Ryan Seacrest, the producer behind the eternally popular "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and a personal friend of Kanye West's, says his understanding is that things are moving in the right direction for the troubled rapper.
Though Kanye was hospitalized at UCLA's Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital for a week following an undisclosed mental health issue, he has been released and is reportedly working through his issues via outpatient care.
Seacrest, speaking to People magazine, said, "I've spoken to Kim. I've not spoken to Kanye, but I think that things are going better now."
Fans of "KUWTK" have been on pins and needles waiting to hear if the show will go on in the wake of Kim's traumatic robbery in Paris and now Kanye's issues. Seacrest said, "There have been some reports that we halted production. We did stop for a little bit, briefly, after the Paris incident, but since then we've been back in full production. We're shooting season 13.”
In related news, Kanye's rap peer 50 Cent told Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live" Thursday evening Kanye's breakdown was not a shocker. "I kind of felt like you could see that coming," 50 noted. "It was, like, little outbursts."
