John Legend, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj to Perform at 2016 American Music Awards
The 2016 American Music Awards are shaping up to be the event of the year: John Legend, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, and Nicki Minaj have just been announced as performers!
The four are added to the already-hot roster of musicians set to perform including: James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Bruno Mars, Twenty One Pilots, a duet from the Chainsmokers and Halsey, and American Music Award of Merit honoree and performer Sting.
This will be the fourth time 23-year-old Ariana Grande will take the stage at the awards show. The “Dangerous Woman” singer is up for this year's top honor, Artist of the Year.
Grande's “Side by Side” duet partner Nicki Minaj appears on the AMA stage for the fourth time. She has an impressive six American Music Awards under her belt, and is an eight-time nominee.
Six-time nominee John Legend will perform for the first time this year. The “All of Me” singer previously took home the award for Favorite Male Artist - Soul/R&B in 2014.
Teen heartthrob Shawn Mendes is also making his debut performance at the AMAs. The 18-year-old is a first-time nominee, competing for the New Artist of the Year Un-leashed by T-Mobile award.
The 2016 American Music Awards airs live Sunday, November 20, at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
