Maksim Chmerkovskiy Is Returning to ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 23
After taking a much-needed break, dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy is set to return to “Dancing with the Stars”!
Maksim told “Good Morning America” on Thursday, "The last 12 years of my life had some sort of relationship to the show. I just wanted this to continue... the feeling and positivity."
Maksim will be bringing back the sibling rivalry with brother Val, who took home the mirror ball trophy with Rumer Willis last year. He said, We've done that before for a bit of time. He's become the star of the show and that's not going to change when I come in and do my thing... I'm excited. I never had this... the way everything came together as a pro this season.”
Rumors started swirling about Maksim's return when photos of himself with Amber Rose wearing dance costumes surfaced on the web.

Though Chmerkovskiy will be on the show for Season 23, his fiancée Peta Murgatroyd will not be competing since she is pregnant with their first child. Peta won the competition earlier this year with Nyle DiMarco.
Back in 2012, Maks said he was leaving the ABC show after 15 seasons. At the time, he revealed to the New York Post, "It makes total sense. The audience can't expect for me to want to stick around, and the producers can't expect for me to want to stick around."
“Dancing with the Stars” premieres September 12 on ABC.
