Why Gwen Stefani Felt Blake Shelton Exposed Her When Announcing His Split from Miranda Lambert
On Wednesday, singer Gwen Stefani made an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” where she opened up on how her love story with Blake Shelton came about after they both experienced heartbreak.
Stefani revealed that she kept her marriage problems secret until Shelton broke the news, on the set of “The Voice,” that he was divorcing Miranda Lambert. She said, "I think I might have went white and, like, shook. I was in shock, because I felt like he was exposing me. I just couldn't even wrap my head around it. I didn't want anyone to know what was going on with me... I had this huge weight on me and nobody but my parents and obviously everybody involved knew.” Watch!
Gwen eventually opened up to Blake about her own marriage troubles with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. She shared, "It was during that time, he came up to my chair... I never saw him look so upset. So then I was like, 'I gotta talk to you.'"
She continued, "I wasn't trying to start a relationship; I was trying to not die. There was no plan."
The No Doubt frontwoman also opened up on her relationship with Gavin. "When I met him and looked up at him, I was like, 'Whoa.' It was different. Somehow he got my phone number, and that was that. He stalked me, I think. I was only 26, and I only had the one relationship. I still lived at home when I met Gavin.”
After discussing the pain she experienced with the breakup from Rossdale, Gwen said, "I think, for me, I feel like I always wondered: Why did I get so unlucky in love? I have so much love in me.”
When Howard asked if a second marriage is on the horizon, Stefani responded, “I'm not answering that question."
