Céline Dion Spotted For First Time Since René Angélil’s Death
On Wednesday afternoon, Céline Dion was seen for the first time since the death of her husband René Angélil.
Daily Mail obtained pictures of a somber-looking Dion, who was seen hugging her close friends before boarding a private jet out of Las Vegas.
The photos surfaced on Thursday, the same day family and friends began gathering at a viewing at Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica to pay their respects. The Global News set up a livestream outside as mourners arrived.
Despite having to say good-bye to her love, Dion is apparently trying to stay strong. A source told People, “She's extremely heartbroken, but she's very good at and has always been about putting on a brave face."
Dion and her kids, René Charles and twin boys Nelson and Eddy, will be attending René's funeral on Friday at the Notre-Dame Basilica. The insider added about the kids, “They're obviously grieving. René-Charles being a teenager has had a more difficult time with the situation than the twins, who are so young."
Dion won't sing at the funeral, but two of her songs will be playing, since it was one of René's last wishes.
Though René has died, Céline feels that his spirit will always be with her and the kids. Dion's stylist and friend Annie Horth said, "I know Celine truly believes that he will eternally be with her and with the kids through everything."
After attending René's funeral, Céline will attend her brother Daniel's memorial service.
