Unhappy New Year for Chris Brown: Suspected in Las Vegas Battery
Chris Brown is having an unhappy time in the new year already: He is officially suspected of misdemeanor battery and theft in Las Vegas.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a woman contends that at 10:20 a.m. on January 2 inside a suite at the Palms Casino Resort, she was battered by Brown at an after-party.
The scene painted in the complaint is of a violent encounter during which the woman was trying to take Brown's picture with her cellphone when Brown hit her and took her phone. She was then escorted out and off the premises by private security.
Police confirm the woman who reported the attack "appeared to have minor injuries sustained as a result of a battery," but Brown had left by the time hotel security and the LVMPD arrived to follow up on the alleged victim's complaint.
Police are still investigating the matter.
