Bill Cosby Charged with Sexual Assault; Arrest Warrant Issued
Actor Bill Cosby has been charged with sexual assault for an incident at his Pennsylvania home nearly 12 years ago, according to People magazine.
An arrest warrant has been issued after Cosby was charged for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand, who met him when she was an operations manager for Temple University's women's basketball team. The two bonded over basketball and eventually formed a friendship. One night in January 2004, Cosby reportedly invited Constand to his home, where he offered her pills to help her relax. After taking the pills, she became immobile and she alleges that Cosby sexually assaulted her on his couch.
After news of the arrest warrant, Constand's attorney, Dolores Troiani, said in a statement, “Obviously we appreciate the expression of confidence in her. We'll have to see what happens. We hope justice will be done. We will cooperate fully.”
The arrest warrant comes two weeks after Cosby filed defamation lawsuits against some of the 50 women who have accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting them.
Though Cosby has denied the allegations in the past, he is expected to be arraigned later today. Watch the press conference below!
