Terrorist Threats and Kettlebells! The Latest on Diddy’s Arrest
Sean “Diddy” Combs landed in jail on Monday after an altercation at UCLA, and new details have emerged about what happened.
The UCPD arrested the rapper on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats and one count of battery.
A rep for the hip hop mogul's company Combs Enterprises told CBS that Diddy was defending himself. "We are confident that once the true facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed," the statement said.
When "Extra" caught up with Diddy's attorney Mark Geragos we asked if Diddy plans to fight the charges, and Geragos replied, "that's an understatement."
According to Scout.com, Diddy's son Justin Combs is a defensive back at UCLA and he had missed few off-season workouts. When he showed up for practice on Monday morning, the coaches didn't feel Justin was giving 100 percent, and strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi booted him off the field, telling him to come back in the fall.
Later that day, Combs and his dad showed up at the athletic facility to talk to Alosi, and that's when the alleged caught on camera fight involving profanity and a kettlebell began.
UCPD arrived on scene and things calmed down. It wasn't until after officers reviewed security video that they decided to arrest the star.
Monday evening, Diddy was transferred from UCLA to the L.A. County Jail. Watch the video.
The next day, Justin shared a photo on Instagram, thanking his dad.
