Jon Hamm Faces Cameras After Secret Rehab Stint for Alcohol
The “Mad Men” star was sighted looking healthier than ever at LAX shortly after completing a 30-day alcohol addiction treatment at a rehab facility, according to Jon Hamm's spokesperson.
“With the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction,” said his rep. “They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward.”
About a month ago, Hamm quietly checked himself into Silver Hill Hospital, a non-profit treatment center of psychiatric and addictive disorders in New Canaan, Connecticut, reports TMZ.
Other famous faces who have reportedly sought help at Silver Hill Hospital include superstar Mariah Carey back in 2001 after allegedly suffering an emotional and physical breakdown. Liza Minnelli's mom, Judy Garland, also struggled with addiction, and Silver Hill was reportedly one of the many treatment centers that she visited (Liza is currently in a rehab facility).
Michael Jackson, Billy Joel and Nick Nolte have also all reportedly checked into Silver Hill Hospital and participated in their treatment programs.
The news of Hamm's treatment comes just days before the premiere of “Mad Men's” seven-episode final season in which Hamm reprises his role as troubled ad exec Don Draper.
“Extra's” Jerry Penacoli caught up with the cast and talked to Hamm about leaving the show.
“It's an emotional time, an emotional journey,” said Hamm. “It's been the defining moment of most of our careers.”
Fans say goodbye to “Mad Men,” starting April 15 on AMC.
