Chase and Points of Light, the world's largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, created Daily Point of Light Award during the administration of President George H. W. Bush, Lauren's grandfather.
It is given to a person who has impacted their community and other communities through a strong commitment to volunteer service. In addition to receiving the Daily Point of Light Award, Menounos’ Take Action Hollywood! initiative received a $25,000 donation from Chase to further their work with "Shining Hope Communities,” which empowers women in Kenya.
This past June, Chase and Points of Light also announced a partnership to launch the One America campaign, which aims to bring powerful voices together to engage millions of people in volunteer service in support of community action, with a focus on education, hunger and the environment. Los Angeles is one of nine cities on the tour, which kicked off in Columbus, OH.
