Hospitalized! What Really Happened to 'RHOA' Star NeNe Leakes?

NeNe Leakes was hospitalized on Monday, and she's setting the record straight about what happened. "Contrary to published reports I did not have a heart attack" the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star told fans via her website.

NeNe wrote, "After some routine tests I was diagnosed with blood clots in my lung. I'm told this happened to me because of the constant traveling around the country that I do for my job."

She added, "I'm thankful to be alive as the doctor advised me that most people don't recognize the symptoms of blood clots and don't go to the doctor and that's when the big problems start happening."

A source from the Bravo production team had supposedly told MediaTakeOut.com that the “RHOA” star is “lucky to be alive” after she started “violently convulsing” and appeared to have a heart attack while filming the hit reality show.

Afterward, NeNe tweeted a photo and the message, “My arms are hurting wit these IV's #blessedtobealive.”

Leakes had not been feeling well over the weekend. On Sunday she told fans, “Thanks 4 tuning into RHOA 2nite! I have been very sick for the past couple of days but I wanted 2 Thank my tweetie pies❤”
