Dr. Drew: Mindy McCready Feared Being Accused of Killing Boyfriend
According to Dr. Drew Pinsky, country star Mindy McCready, who died of an apparent suicide on Sunday, was full of fear after the death of boyfriend David Wilson.
Dr. Drew told "Extra," “She was a lovely, lovely person, I spoke to her about a week and a half ago… and yes, she was absolutely shattered [by David's apparent suicide]. Her greatest fear was that if she should take care of herself -- get treatment, go back into the hospital -- that she would be accused of having killed him or be stigmatized and judged for going to the hospital.”
McCready, 37, turned to "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" in 2009 for help with codependency issues. Afterward, she told "Extra" that the show "saved her life," and praised Pinsky for his help, saying, “I have more respect for him than I ever have had respect for any man in my entire life.”
