'The Voice' Crowns a Winner!
It’s official; “The Voice” has a new winner! After months of stiff competition, America had to decide between the final three favorites, including, pop princess Cassadee Pope, rocker Terry McDermott and soulful singer Nicholas David.
As the two-hour live finale came to a close, host Carson Daly made the big announcement and Cassadee was named the season champ. The singing competition is famous for giving contestants a chance to audition for the show’s mentors – Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green and Adam Levine -- without being seen. Pope and McDermott were both on Blake’s team, while David was with CeeLo.
Cassadee told "Extra's" Terri Seymour, “I feel like this is not real life. This is crazy!" Her win was the second in a row for coach Blake, who said, “We got to experience a superstar in the making.”
Fellow mentors Christina and Adam had kind words for the winner too. Aguilera said, “She connected with America and she really grew throughout the process.” Levine added, “You know it's hard not to love her so we're all very happy with the winner.”
All three finalists had a chance to shine during the finale, along with some of the teammates along the way. The show also included performances by top acts Rihanna, The Killers and Kelly Clarkson.
