Donald Trump and Other Stars React to Amanda Knox's Acquittal
Shortly after Amanda Knox's murder conviction was overturned in an Italian courtroom Monday, celebrities took to Twitter, voicing their opinions and support of the American exchange student.
One such supporter was Donald Trump, who had a phone interview with CNN's Erin Burnett and said, "She was never guilty, all the evidence proved that. The prosecutor's got his own issues, he's got a terrible reputation and a terrible past."
The "Celebrity Apprentice" boss added that he has followed Knox's story carefully and hopes the best for the 24-year-old. "She's gonna now recapture her life and, frankly, maybe become a big star and make some dividends for herself."
Not all of Hollywood supported Knox's acquittal. Nancy Grace spoke out at on Monday's "Dancing with the Stars," telling "Extra," "I think Amanda Knox's release was a huge miscarriage of justice. Italians apparently think she's too cute to go to jail!"
Other celebrities like Nick Lachey tweeted, "Congratulations to amanda knox and the knox family for the overturning of her guilty verdict in italy. What a relief it must be for them!!"
