Extra Extra! Jessica Simpson to Star in 'Fashion Star'
Singer Jessica Simpson is taking her highly successful skills as a fashion designer and applying them to the new reality TV show, "Fashion Star."
Simpson, whose successful clothing and shoe line, the Jessica Simpson Collection, could top an astounding $1 billion in revenue this year, will act as a fashion mentor for 14 aspiring designers angling to get funding for their own lines, PopEater.com reports. Model Elle McPherson is set to host the program.
"Jessica Simpson has built an incredible fashion business and is a perfect mentor to our aspiring designers," said Ben Silverman, who will produce the show with his company, Electus, along with The Magical Elves and 5X5 Media.
The actress/singer, engaged to Eric Johnson, also just announced plans to create a tween fashion line with her younger sister, Ashlee Simpson.
